I’ve written the following letter as a sort of buffet so you can pick and select whatever catches your fancy and write something we’ll both enjoy. 

I’m a firm believer in Optional Details are Optional, so as long as you respect my few DNWs it’s going to be great!

Please no references, even implied or offhand, to anything terrorism related, civilians dying, or bombs. Thank you.

 

If it happens to characters in canon, I can deal with it happening to them in fic. The same goes for violence really, I can deal with everything as long as it at the same intensity level of canon.

• No Power Imbalance between requested characters, so if Under Influence (alcohol, drugs, Heats, Sex-Pollen… I prefer ALL of them to be Under Influence)

I love fic in which a relationship is explored, and don’t mind if that’s the main plot. I can deal with angst, but I’d like to have some kind of happy resolution at the end, even if it’s Happy For Now. 

I’d prefer all fic to be set in their respective Canons, but I definitely love Alternate Canons. I’m very big on a lot of tropes. I love tropes. THE OC

Who I requested: Ryan Atwood/Taylor Townsend

Why I love the canon: The moment I saw these two were nominated I rewatched all their scenes together from the last season. Just, Taylor Townsend and her healing powers still get to me, all this time later. I always loved that they were very different and very differently broken people, who still managed to find common ground, and just started the healing process together. They made each other better people I think, which is all I want from my fictional relationships. Also, their whole relationship was genuinely funny, and A) we’re talking about Ryan here, and B) I think the OC needed that after all the Marissa drama. (Who for the record, I don’t dislike). They made me warm and fuzzy and hopeful.

 

Prompts:

• Their time as students, long distance or just the occasional run-in. I don’t think they were together the entire time, especially with Taylor being in Paris, but I totally think they just can’t resist every time they meet again (and are both uninvolved).
• Them getting back together. I think it could have either gone really smooth and easy and organically, from a sort of friends with benefits situation, with neither of them really willing to risk taking it further, since this time it’s probably now or never. Or totally the opposite with long and savored UST that just explodes at some point, and fuck it the feelings are still there. And this time, they’re both in the right place at the right time together.
• I’d also be super into reading about their life together, and how they work together. First time living together, weird hang-ups that clash, and how they mesh their expectations with reality.
• In a similar vein, their first holiday together, especially if it’s Paris, could be a glorious thing.
• They’re both so bad at communicating, that I’d be super into reading about the ways they find to show their care and love and commitment together, that no one else really understands. 
• I love Taylor’s wild and quirky plans and hobbies, and while I think she’ll become calmer and more sure of herself by becoming older, I think she’ll keep getting interested and into a wide variety of things. I’d love to read about Ryan going along with her newest hobbies. Basically, at one point Taylor becomes an underwear designer for a hobby, and Ryan is her model, and other mad plans with surprising results.
• I love the whole paying it forward scenario at the ending of the series, and would love to read about Taylor dealing with having a second Ryan in the house, but also with the kid dealing with Taylor, and most of all I think bringing a kid like that home would have a huge impact on Ryan as well.
• Ryan dealing with being a, while anonymous, still recognizable to him inspiration for many a Romantic Hero Taylor writes on the side.
• These two were always combustable together, and I like to think that continues until late in life. I especially love that Taylor is the adventurous one of them and always up to try new things. I’m pretty much saying this always, but yes to all the Pegging, you know you want to, Taylor so totally does.

 

 

TWO GUYS A GIRL AND A PIZZAPLACE

Who I requested: Michael Bergen/Irene

What I love about the canon: This is my nostalgia feel good relationship. Like, I loved them so much together, and was always kind of sad how the show got canceled before they got in a good place again. Because argh, they were so awesome and good for one another. I loved how their craziness connected and just worked together. I loved how they found each others quirks hot and loved each other for them, not despite them. I loved how they both became better people for the other. 

They’re one of those couples I occasionally think about, check AO3, and then am super disappointed that there’s little to no fic for them. It’s been years since I saw an episode, and I’m still so invested. 

They both deserve happiness and joy and fun.

I really don’t care for Pete, so I’m fine with him being offscreen.

 

Prompts:

• Anything Post-Canon. They had the pregnancy scare and how Berg dealt with that, and just, how to they go on from there? I’d really like to read how they go from where they were then to being entirely completely okay again.
• My favorite Berg and Irene moment is probably when they’re painting Berg’s toe-nails. I love how he’s not afraid to try out things, how he doesn’t entirely conform to gender norms, and how he can totally admit he likes things like that. Also, I just really like it as a moment of physical intimacy that isn’t necessarily sex related. So any kind of date that involves body care in what would be perceived as traditionally feminine. 
• In a similar vein, Berg in panties. Can definitely be sex related.
• Berg and Irene moving in together seems like a recipe for both disaster, shenanigans, and tons of relationship development. I personally thing it would work really well, but that they’d also have to get used to quirks and things they really didn’t expect. Especially because neither seems to have lived together with a significant other ever.
• The sexual adventures of Berg and Irene, two people who are willing to try anything once, and have really vivid imaginations. Possibly featuring: pegging, roleplay of all kinds and sizes, and lots and lots of toys.

 

 

HIT THE FLOOR

Who I requested: Jude Kinkade/Zero

What I love about canon:

What don’t I love about canon? Seriously, this show totally stole my heart with a vengeance. It’s got great dancers, SO MUCH SCHEMING BY EVERYONE, and a bisexual athlete coming out by kissing his boyfriend ON COURT. And then it only got better.

I love Jude and Zero so much, and I love their whole relationship. I love that they are both schemers and playing to win, and I love that once they get involved they always have each others back. (“I think about you first all the time” - KILL ME NOW). I love that Zero accidentally moved in, I love that they are so open about their feelings, and I love, love, love that they have absolutely no chill when it comes to one another. Jude realizes he’s gay and absolutely runs with, aiming for a respectful relationship from the get go. Zero realizes he apparently does do relationships - boom, he moves in, buys a house to renovate together, and plays the wifey in Jude’s plans.

I’d prefer a fic focused on them, but feel free to do cameo’s with any of the other characters. I really loathe Pete, so please avoid him. I also genuinely love and respect Jelena, so please don’t character-bash her.

 

Prompts:

• Renovation Shenanigans! I assume that with Jelena in the hospital, Zero isn’t being traded on the spot (I don’t buy that he’d be traded anyway, in no basketball universe ever would he be traded), so they go forward with the renovating. Which, lets be honest is like a huge relationship test for everyone, let alone for two people who have no idea how normal relationships work, nor with any renovating skills whatsoever. Give me stupid arguments about how many bathrooms they need, about how they want to organize their kitchen, anything. Followed by all the make-up sex, obviously.
• Meet the family fic. I am super curious about Jude’s mom, who was strong enough to leave Oscar, and I’d love to read about her and how she deals with Jude being gay, and with Zero, who on the outside doesn’t look like boyfriend material. Also Zero playing the role of good son-in-law when Jude just wants him to be himself.
• In a similar vain, I loved that Zero’s sister was doing well, I’d love to read fic where she finds him, so it’s her own choice, and they get to have some kind of sibling relationship.
• I’d love accidental dating fic from the period when they were still friends-with-benefits. I’m pretty sure they both knew what was going on long before Jude brought it up, so I’d love fic that deals with them forcing themselves to remain denial.
• I loved, loved, loved them scheming together to schmooch with the Board members, so if you feel like writing a plotty fic, where Jude and Zero (and possibly Lionel) scheme and plan to get rid of Oscar for good, I’d love that. Especially if through circumstances, Jude and Jelena have to work together, find out that they work well together, and become unlikely allies against Oscar.
• It’s canon that they love sex, and I always loved that Jude went from “huh, I’m gay” to “let’s have all the friends with benefits-sex”. I like to think that neither of them is afraid to try out new things, so give me all the awesome, occasionally awkward, ooh I didn’t know that was a kink, adventures of Jude and Zero in bed. I love how much they laugh together, and have fun, and would like to see that translated in there sex-life. 
• What I also loved in the sex in the closet scene, is how they were both kind of aggressive and pushy, and switched around a lot. 

 

YOU’RE THE WORST

Who I requested: Gretchen Cutler/Jimmy Shive-Overly

What I love about canon: Everything. I love how unabashedly fucked up everyone on this show is, how they are for the most part genuinely awful people, and how there’s zero shame about that. I love Jimmy a lot, but honestly, last season Gretchen stole my heart. I thought the show handled depression really, really well (I have chronic depression myself), and I’m just so happy they decided to actually do the story properly. I love her outside of her depression as well obviously, especially her relationship with Lindsay and with Sam, Shitstain and Honeynutz. I also loved that Jimmy built an actual blanketfort, and that he stayed, and I think that was a turning point in their relationship and in the show for me.

I read something about the showrunner saying that the first season was Jimmy meet Gretchen, the second season was Jimmy vs. Gretchen, and that the third season would by Jimmy and Gretchen vs. the world, and that’s honestly what I would love for fic as well. They’re just so great together, I love them a lot.

 

Prompts:

• Sunday Funday Shenanigans. I love Sunday Funday, and would probably read a thousand fics of just the gang getting drunk, being their terrible selves in public, and get into all kinds of trouble. 
• Now that they’ve dealt with the depression thing, I think it’s likely they’ll assume that obviously they can now handle everything. Which then obviously turns out to be the opposite of true. Maybe there’s a hurricane or another kind of weather emergency. Maybe they go on vacation to outside LA and FAIL at traveling. Maybe Lindsay actually goes through with having the baby, and Gretchen and Jimmy have to get her to the hospital together.
• Jimmy and Gretchen vs. the new neighbours of doom. Either because they’re way too nice and sociable, or because they’re the worst ever neighbours to have.
• I also seriously love how this show deals with sex, and how upfront and laidback both Gretchen and Jimmy are about their desires. And they genuinely don’t mind doing stuff because the other person is into it, even if it’s not one of their own kinks. I just think they have really good sex, because while they often fail at communicating, this is the are they are awesome at communicating at. So I’d love fic that has them experimenting (give me the buttstuff they didn’t try that episode - I like to think Jimmy loves pegging despite himself), try to find the laziest way to have sex that still satisfies them both, all kinds of public places they end up having sex at, and them re-enacting the canonically terrible erotica Jimmy wrote.
