I'm excited about Fic in a Box and I hope you are too! I did my best to offer a wide array of likes and prompts in my letter. Don't feel obliged to write everything for one prompt or fandom. I really like longfic, but I would love a bunch of gifts in an array of fandoms and prompts and mediums as well. Most of all, I hope you have fun with creating things we both love!

A GATHERING OF DRAGONS - MILLA VANE

Requested: Ardyl/Kelir, Ardyl/Kelir/Original Character(s),  What I love about the fandom and characters: BARBARIAN ROMANCE! Dinosaurs in the background! I really like how Milla Vane (aka Meljean Brook) builds words, and this series is no exception. I like the political maneuvering, I like the wildness and the violence. I love that this is a world recovering from a terrible event. I love Marrek and Yvette and the found family around them.

Which brings me to Ardyl and Kelir. They caught my eye the moment they took someone else to their beds, and the more the love between them became clearer, the more I became invested. The mutual love and pining that isn't quite pining. DELICIOUS. I also really, really love the importance of truth and honesty in this series, because it bares so many emotions that usually stay hidden. They're just so upfront about their feelings, while at the same time also being quiet about it.

The tension between their oath and loyalty to Maddek vs. their obviously deepfelt feelings for each other, and how they navigate that by having threesomes where they don't touch is just so fucking appealing to me. For fic that gets them actually together, I like the explanation Ardyl gives in book 2, that their oath to Maddek would always trump any oaths they could make to each other, but… BUT. They love each other already! It hasn't gone away! They swore their oats together! Surely there is a way that they can be together, within their oaths and loyalty towards Maddek. It can happen on their current mission, it can happen in the far future, when the Destroyer is defeated and the world is better. Maybe one of them almost dies, maybe they all almost die, maybe they finally kiss on the final battlefield! Maybe it happens when they are older or when Maddek is no longer the Ran, when they're grey and their joints are creaky...

Let them love each other!

fic that explores their youth. How they came to be part of Maddek’s Dragon. When did they realize that they loved each other? How did they decide that they never would act on it? Did they talk about this or did they never speak of it directly to one another?
fic that actually gets them together. I like the explanation Ardyl gives in book 2, that their oath to Maddek would always trump any oaths they could make to each other, but... BUT. One way all these feelings could be explored could be through the people they shared their beds and hearts with. Who was the first woman they shared a bed with? Who was the first man? Did they ever share Maddek between them? Ardyl mentions they both have big hearts, who else did they love or feel affection for? How did sharing their bed with a third person become the way they express the love between them? (I'm not specifically interested in the monk character who has a crush on them, but he can totally be part of a wider exploration).
The super angsty version where one of them is taken and the other has to keep their oath and can't go rescue them. Terrible things happen, but eventually, they get free/are rescued and are reunited, and dramatic love confessions happen.
Adventures on the road. They left their home behind, how do they view their fellow travelers? What do they think about the lands they travel through? How do their fellow Parsathians view their relationship? How many dinosaurs do they kill? Some kind of travelogue about their adventures on the road would be awesome. Also, since book 1 is canonically put into song by book 2, I am totally here for a bard type of character putting the story of the star-crossed barbarians to song.

I love all the dinosaurs descriptions in the books, so I’m totally here for a bestiary featuring them together with the other wildlife. Feel free to throw in some other fantasy creatures, and notes about the natural habitats. I really love the post-apocalyptic feel of this world, so you can definitely play with that too.

KING ARTHUR (2004)

Requested: Bors/Dagonet/Vanora

What I love about the fandom and pairings: I really love the whole Sarmatian Auxiliary to the Roman army angle of King Arthur. 15 years of fighting in a war that is not yours, in a country that isn't yours, for a country that is not yours. I love the easy friendship between all the knights, but also how very different they look upon their time in Britain. So much drama and fucked-upness right there.

There's this moment relatively early in the movie, when Vanora sings, and Bors and Dagonet share a look, and every time I get fucking emotional about it.

They just want to go home, but the Romans fuck them over, and then Dagonet sacrifices himself and I drown in tears.

I love the obvious affection Bors feels for both Vanora and Dagonet, I love how Dagonet is this mountain of silent, but deep feelings, and I love how Vanora is possibly the only sensible person in that whole castle. I have a mighty need for the three of them to LIVE happily ever after. Fuck, they'd be hot, and awesome and glorious together. Honestly, this is one of my perennial requests because my love for them never stills. A long time ago I wrote this Sarmatian Threesome primer, and all my emotions are still as strong.  This is a specific request for OT3, please don't make them Pairing + One

DAGONET LIVES

The whole Sarmatian knight thing is one of the biggest appeals for me, so I would love fic that explores the culture clashes between Bors and Dagonet, Sarmatians raised by the Roman army, and Vanora, a woman of the isles (?). (We actually don’t know her background; she sings about Home and it’s implied she’s singing about Sarmatia, but since we don’t see any girls being displaced by the Romans, I think that she’s the daughter of a former Sarmatian knight with a British woman. Which I love because Culture Clash! But feel free to play around to your heart’s content.)
There’s also Bors idea of settling in Britain, which I love, because again, culture clash, and also Bors is just such a soldier, the idea of him trying his hand at farming cracks me up. But I also imagine them all going back to Sarmatia, and like trying to settle in a life there that they lost a long time ago, because when you spent such a formative part of your youth away from your culture, it’s bound to feel alien. Speaking of Sarmatia, apparently they were known for having Warrior Women, so a fic where Vanora’s kind but bossy nature is what attracts them to her would be lovely.
This can all be established relationship, or them getting together, either with something already being there between two of them (Bors/Vanora, or Bors/Dagonet) and the third one balancing it all out. The Romancing and Seduction of one Silent Stoic Soldier called Dagonet, by means of Stray Children, Foul Language and Excellent Sex, as told by Vanora, with enthusiastic annotations by Bors, would be excellent.
I’m not going to lie, I’m mostly into these three because they’re so affectionate with one another, there’s so much physicality in this movie and it’s so obvious they love each other. So yeah, I’m here for some hot Sarmatian threesomes. Some ideas and things I like for them:
I have a theory that obviously Bors' 12 children are at least 50% strays Dagonet picked up. I'd love a slice of life type fic, where the three (try to) find an escape from the daily chaos of raising 12 children to get laid. Extra kudos if there's a couple of awkward walk-ins and some failed attempts because of sudden interruptions. Sex in the outdoors seems like one possible solution to this problem.
I did love all the fighting scenes a lot, and angsty fic where someone gets wounded, and the other two comfort them and each other would be delicious. Without the angst I'd also love Post-Battle victory sex, Thank God We're Alive sex and Dammit, Looking at you fight makes me really horny sex. Could also be Post-Training sex, because I imagine Vanora to be an interested spectator whenever Bors and Dagonet spar. I'm convinced they'd have competitions between them to have the honor of eating Vanora out that evening. All the manhandling, rolling around, struggling for being on top. I like to think Vanora makes up for her lack of physical strength (in comparison) with the strength of her personality.
I'd love a Soulbond AU, or an Animal Shifter AU, or both. Especially if there'd be cultural differences between the Britons and Sarmatians in how was dealt with this. I love me some Fantasy Non-Human Genitalia, so feel free to go as weird and kinky as you want. I'm also really into all the marking and claiming and possessiveness, especially if it's mutual and in all directions.

INNKEEPER CHRONICLES - ILONA ANDREWS

Requested: Maud Demille/Arland Krahr

What I love about the fandom and pairings: VAMPIRES IN SPACE!! Okay, so I love the mix of magic and sci-fi that is the innkeeper series. I love Gertrude's magic and Dina and the whole concept of inns as magical places where weary space travelers can rest their heads. But I only really got fannish when we went with Maud to the vampire world, because POLITICS. MARTIAL FEUDAL ORIENTED POLITICS. I'm just a sucker for culture clashes and diplomacy and violent cultures trying to be not violent. I really love Maud and Arland as a pairing because they're so obviously in love, but at the same time they're also realistic about their situation, and so the pining while trying to figure out if they can work out long time really worked for me. I'm also a sucker for couples who work together, so Maud’s new political position in House Krahr works so well for me.

PROMPTS

Fic related to Maud’s new function. All the Space Diplomacy with various alien species in the new Space Station, while she’s navigating the vampire politics and her in-laws meddling.
Arland’s sister goes missing, possibly due to aliens and Maud and Arland have to go on a rescue mission while also avoiding a new galactic war (or starting a new Vampire conflict because it turned out to be Vampires, not aliens, and nobody messes with House Khrahr. The more Lady Ilemina and her consort are involved the better (or worse).
Maud and Arland are obviously in love, but they figured that out in very difficult circumstances, so now that the waters have calmed a little, what do they learn about each other. How does their life together look like? How does Helen fit it? How does their relationship develop?
I am weak for battle couples. Any excuse for a big sprawling battle where they both get to up their kill count, maybe save each other’s life and afterward have wild life-affirming sex would be great. Bathing in the blood of their enemies optional.
Maud and Arland started their courting while fighting and sparring together, so a fic that explores this further, how the nature of their sparring changes along with their relationship, maybe even some outsider POV on this, or a n times kind of fic. Sparring turning into slightly violent sex very welcome.

STAR TREK DISCOVERY

Requested: Christopher Pike/Ash Tyler

What I love about the fandom and characters:
Ash and everything that happened to him makes for the kind of character that is catnip to me. Ash being Voq (and specifically Voq’s body being modified into Ash and then having Ash’s memories planted on top of his) and the aftermath of that is just such delicious whump. I also love that Ash before and after that reveal, is the kind of character who imprints on other people and immediately goes ride or die. The way he threw himself in with Lorca, then L’Renn, then Georgiou and Section 31. He’s a man looking for someone to follow, and he keeps being thrown away, until he ends up with Section 31 as the only place that will have him.

I loved Pike from the moment he showed up on the Discovery, because of his warmth, his openness and his lack of ego when it comes to his command-style. He’s charming and kind, and always willing to listen to different POV’s, and great at using the strengths of his crew. I love how he has a strong moral code and personal ethics, and while those mostly allign with Starfleet goals, he’s always willing to call them out if he disagrees with the mission or their actions.

Which makes his strong reaction to Ash so delicious to me. From the get-go he’s not willing to budge on the idea that Ash is a murderer (even if that was Voq) or to see him as anything else but a Section 31 spy. Meanwhile this is the first captain Ash hasn’t imprinted on, so he keeps calling Chris out (sometimes for the right reasons, sometimes for the wrong ones) and there’s so much tension between them I can’t help but want them to fuck it out.

PROMPTS

Timewise: I’m into everything from during canon, to post-canon in the direct aftermath, or an AU where they go along with Disco to the future. For future fic in the SNW timeline, see below. Other verses (like the Mirror verse) are great too, as long as at least one of them is in Starfleet or something similar. All the typical Star Trek shenanigans are welcome!
I feel like there's a lot of room to build on all the tension and bickering of Disco s2. I like that they have the same goal but different principles. Where does all that tension go??!! Sparring! Emotional Confrontations! Grief! Can't believe we survived! Long live the cavalry! So many possibilities for the tension to turn into sex!
I also believe that they'd be great as Enemies turned sort of Friends With Benefits. Who then maybe catch feelings. And pine. And are separated by duty and their own insecurities. But what if one of them finally is forced to confront their feelings?
I think there are a lot of options with Ash once being Voq and being (noncon) body-modified. Heats! Knotting! Klingon Double Dicks! Mating Rituals and Latent Surprise Klingon Urges! (Feel free to go body-horror with this!)
I feel like there's a lot you can do with Ash being Section 31 (Pike still doesn't have to like them) and needing the Enterprise and/or Pike to assist with a mission. All the spy shenanigans! Undercover for a mission! Undercover in a sex slave ring! Undercover as marrieds! Feel free to combine with any and all alien political/cultural/sex shenanigans.
I think Ash is a little fucked up and Pike is a little fucked up, and somehow Ash's son is involved in both of their fucked-upness and there is a lot of room to angst with that. Especially if you go the touch accidental soul bond way, and Ash gets flashes of Pike's future visions. I can enjoy any kink if the characters are really enthusiastically into it.

CROSSOVER BETWEEN STAR TREK DISCOVERY and STRANGE NEW WORLDS

Requested: Christopher Pike (SNW)/Ash Tyler (DISCO)

See all of the above but with the additional knowledge that Chris’s fate can’t be changed (or can it?) and a different (or both) crews involved.

I love the SNW crew of the Enterprise a lot, and would be thrilled with fic set during this time, or post-SNW canon but pre the accident and Pike’s second stay at Talos IV. I especially love Una, Uhura and La’an and I’m into this version of Spock a lot too.

PROMPTS

What if Ash was one of Chris’s one-night stands to fuck away the Boreth and Discovery trauma with, and now it’s kind of awkward when they meet again (for a mission). Especially because Chris tends to spill his feelings to his bedmates, so now Ash knows things about Chris that he didn’t necessarily want to be known.
Relatedly I’m also really into Ash and Spock both having lost Michael and having loved her, and how complicated all the feelings between Ash, Spock and Chris might be, but also how they’re the only people who experienced Discovery so how they might need each other to come to terms with everything that happened.
What if Chris is so determined to get back Una, that he involves Section 31 and Ash to get her out when all else fails? What if Chris goes through all the politicking and Starfleet courts etc, and nothing works and then Section 31 has an interest in Una so they get to her first?
Outsider POV of the Enterprise Crew trying to figure out why their captain, who hates and distrusts Section 31 keeps involving Commander Tyler? Or the same but trying to figure out why Tyler keeps showing up and involving himself in their missions.
Obviously Chris has terrible taste in bedpartners, because they keep betraying him or murdering children, so once it becomes obvious that Chris is making eyes at a Section 31 spy, the Bridge Crew has to intervene. Shenanigans ensue (and then it turns out Chris and Ash have been coworkers with benefits for years).
Any and all kind of "For the Mission!" shenanigans. Undercover! Crossdressing! Fake Parners! Gladiator Fighting! Sent to the future or the past! Stuck in a jungle/desert! Only one bed!
Chapel's genetic modification thingy used on Ash could have unforseen consequences with his history. What if he's stuck as a Klingon, or as something else and he has to go through all that body trauma again. What if he isn't stuck but misses being a Klingon? What if it takes a while to wear of and one of them can't resist the idea of fucking? For Science.
Love languages. I think it's obvious that Pike's is food, but with a replicator and long distance relationship, that's not that easy? How does he show his affection when they're so far away? (I love the replicator WB tag that is in the tagset, feel free to use that as inspiration.) What's Ash's love language?
