Dear Purimgifts Author, 

I'm pretty excited about this exchange, so thank you in advance for taking part! I hope you'll have fun. Rest assured I'm super easy to please, and that all information you find in this letter is totally optional. So don't stress about getting all my likes in there (there's way too much of them anyway), the important thing for me is that you write something you like as well!

Also, since I opted in for podfic enthusiastically, just letting you know that I have blanket permissions on all my fic.  

I can be found on AO3 as Pameluke, and I generally fandom as janoda on tumblr. 

I love some porn with my plot and some plot with my porn. If you'd rather write gen or PWP, that's fine as well. I've divided all my prompts into narrative prompts and porn prompts, ideally you can think of it as a buffet, where you choose and pick those ingredients you like, and combine the perfect dish for you. 

Let us start with general DNWs and squicks so we can get those out of the way.

GENERAL DNW’S 

If it happens to characters in canon, I can deal with it happening to them in fic. The same goes for violence really, I can deal with everything as long as it at the same intensity level of canon. 

• No Non-Con or Dub-Con
• No Underage
• No Character Death
• No Valentine Dates. We don’t really do that were I live, so it’s not all that appealing to me.
• No Incest
• No Humiliation
• No Infantilisation

Otherwise, I’m game. The rating can be as high or low as you want, as long as it’s consensual I’m okay with any kink, and the fouler the language the better.   

GENERAL LIKES, TROPES, AND AUs 

I love canon fic, case-fic, slice of life fic, expansion on worldbuilding, adventures in nature, food and cooking related fic, loyalty kink, competence kink, hurt-comfort, found families, random domesticity. Cross-overs, fusions, AUs, tropetastic fic. 

I love fic in which a relationship is explored, and don’t mind if that’s the main plot. I love it when characters have a support network outside of their relationship, so that happening in the background is always a plus. I can deal with angst, but I’d like to have some kind of happy resolution at the end, even if it’s Happy For Now.

For Alternate Canons, I’m very big on a lot of tropes. I love tropes. Seriously, give me all the fandom cliches, I gobble them up. I especially love inversions and subversions, or just played straight. Some of my favorites: 

• Soulbonds, in all forms, with marks or no marks, with relationships between the actual bonds or out of them, telepathic powers, or only bad side-effects.
• In general, I like all sorts of universes that have a Thing that forces two people to continually be together/work together, and fic about how they manage that. (Think Sentinel/Guide fic, or The Heroes series by Moira Moore, or this Ghost Hunting AU)
• Fake relationships that turn real. In all forms. For all reasons
• Enemies to Lovers, Enemies to Friends, Friends to Lovers
• Living by the Nile, or “What feelings? Me? No Way, Good Sir, Never (I love you)”
• Elaborate Plans Gone Wrong
• Awkward Flirting
• Awkward Sex
• Competent People and the People who fall for them, all the Competence Kink, seriously

GENERAL PORN KINKS 

Kinks I’m into if you’re of the porn persuasion: 

• Enthusiastic consent, this is my biggest kink always
• Consentacles while we’re at it
• Knotting
• Fantasy Sex Anatomy, in general, the weirder the better
• Seriously Xeno sex is YAY, especially if it's kind of puzzling how to make it work between two different species
• Body Worship and Body Modification, aka Tattoos, Piercings, anything

• Controlled Strength, I don't have a thing for size difference necessarily, but I do for strength difference

In general, I like narrative sex and a little plot with my porn. I love character introspection, character development, and relationship development through sex. For me, sex is both about the pleasure people can derive from each other and about the emotional connection that can be made. 

Everything is hotter when emotions are involved.

You can ignore everything that’s not to your liking or doesn’t inspire you. On to the fandom-specific stuff, YAY.

 

Spartacus:

Fandom of my heart! I love it so much. And I’m so glad I get to swoon about the ladies for once! While I love the amazing evilness of Lucretia and Ilithyia, for this exchange I’m not really interested in the Romans. Give me freedom fighting rebel slave girls all the way. 

Mira is forever my favorite, and I shall be forever sad she died when she did. She’s objectively the best, and still the one that started the revolution while wearing a literal flowercrown. By bashing someone’s head in. Seriously how badass can you be? I also love how she was rational, and a little bit mercenary in her relationship with Spartacus, and wasn’t afraid to judge/critique him. I also admire her for getting out when she wasn’t getting the emotional fulfillment that she wanted from that. You go Mira. I ship her with Spartacus, but a Spartacus with a heart, and I ship her with Chadara. Because they judge men and dicks together. And also, both died too soon. Give me the AU where they both live longer and kick ass and sense into people any time. 

My other queen is Kore, who is my queen of everything. Her personal sacrifice is so large. Her arc is so strong. The way she went for her vengeance that was her due is so amazing. I love her so much. I ship her with freedom, with Mira, and with Donar, because they’re both so sensible, and she deserves all the nice things.

And last but not least, Naevia, you warrior goddess queen you, how I love you. How to tell a love story through beheadings, the tale of Naevia and Crixus. Again, the character development is so awesome, I just can’t deal. In my ideal world, Naevia becomes some kind of Valkyrie, forever roaming battlefields, looking for a fallen warrior worthy of her love. NOBODY EVER IS BECAUSE CRIXUS. (I don’t ship her with anyone else, because feminist boyfriend is the best boyfriend)

I’m not really into Modern AU’s for Spartacus, unless they have a Supernatural/Magical/Something other twist. I’d love canon divergence fic where any of them or all of them end up being the survivors. I’d love for any of them to actually talk with each other about their experiences and their thoughts on freedom. The weakest point of Spartacus is that never mind how awesome the female characters, they so seldom talk with one another. Seriously, a little scene of Naevia and Kore actually talking through their need for vengeance. Man. Or all of them as goddesses of death. Or the all female goat farm in Gallia.

 

King Arthur (2004):

Okay so I know this movie isn’t objectively amazing, but damn, I’ve re fallen in love with it - mostly due to it’s non Arthurian related characters. Ok, honestly, 80% of my love for this movie is due to the score, and the remaining 20 is definitely the Sarmatians. Which brings me to Vanora, minor character of my heart. The moment she sings about home and Bors and Dagonet (and the other knights) are all emotional is probably my favorite moment of the movie. Emotions everywhere, every fucking time.  So yeah, the following is mostly headcanons, because she’s a background character after all, but just, the possibilities are all so intriguing. What we know is that she’s kind and caring and raising 11 kids. Since she’s relatively young, I always assume a couple of those at least are adopted. She sings about Home and it’s implied she’s singing about Sarmatia, but since we don’t see any girls being displaced by the Romans, I think that she’s the daughter of a former Sarmatian knight with a British woman. Which I love because Culture Clash! I ship her with Bors, because they are so openly loving, but I ship her even more in a triad with Bors/Dagonet/Vanora. Because I woman raising that many kids deserves two men to help her, and also because the moment with Dagonet while she sings. It’s my new OT3, and I’ve been succumbing to emotions about them for about two months now. 

I’d rather have they all live AUs, either in Briton or back to Sarmatia. I love the idea of them going back and settling down as adults, in the country they only know from hazy child memories. But I also love the idea of them settling in Britain. Or just a little scene from before the movie starts. Maybe Bors and Dagonet courting her? Or she courting them? Seriously, I’d read three ficlets about them eating together, and I’d be the happiest camper ever.

I also like Guinevere a lot in this movie, and am honestly intrigued by her as a Pict/Woad. She’s very mercenary and calculated in this version, and I like that about her because she’s got a lot of agency. I always wonder what her relationship with Merlin is exactly before she got caught by the Romans. Her marriage to Arthur is also interesting, because while I guess there’s genuine emotion there, I also don’t think she can leave the gain for her people far out of her mind. I’d love some fic that deals with this balancing act.

 

You’re the Worst:

Surprise Feelings Fandom! Seriously, for a comedy about terrible people having a romance, this show has been giving me way too many emotions. It hits hard, and it hits home, and at least 80% of that is due to Gretchen. Fuck, how I lover. Snarky, I deal with my depression by not dealing with it at all Gretchen. I am also clinically depressed, and am dealing with it, but I’ve been where Gretchen was, and never has a show shown that as recognizable and true as You’re The Worst. So now that we’ve dealt with that in canon, I want all the happy fanfic to forget all the pain. I love her and Jimmy together, and honestly still think they are perfect. I’d read a million ficlets filled with random conversations between them judging people and the world. I also love her relationship with Lindsay, who I love unabashedly. She’s just so epicurist, and self-serving and egotistical and a total glutton, and I love her for it. I like her quest to better herself a lot (albeit I’m less enthused about the whole getting a baby story, and being back with Paul), but I mostly love her for her flaws. I genuinely adore her and Gretchens conversations and misunderstandings about feminism, and their aversion but simultaneous desire to be one. I’d honestly read a lot of fic about them being their version of feminists. Or fic about how they met, their college days, how they became friends. Just, their relationship is so awesome.

 

Kate Daniels - Ilona Andrews:

Asskickers of my heart! Also shifters <3. I love Kate so much, not only because of the great world-building, and the amazing overarching storyline and romance (even after the happy ending), but also because of all Kate’s friendships. Just, the side-characters are so interesting and well-rounded and go through their own development, I love that. Seriously, I’m constantly stomping at the foot to have spin-off after spin-off. So like, I’m gonna list a whole bunch of women I love from this series, feel free to combine them in any manner that pleases you. I’m all in it for the relationships. And the snark. 

So yeah, obviously Kate is amazing and I love her, but last book I was seriously hungry for her best friend, who’s been missing in action. Andrea my Sigg-Sauer wielding woop-asser, where are you? I miss you! I love how she step ups, I love how she fights for what’s right, and fell oh so deep only to get back up again. I want to know how she’s dealing as Alpha of Clan Bouda. I love the Bouda’s a lot in general, so any of their antics would be fun! Speaking of Clan Bouda, Aunt B, you are missed. Worst death in the whole series, I cried so much. So anything about her younger days, maybe from before the Pack? Seriously, even Aunt B drinking tea tends to be thrilling, so bring it on. While we’re at Alpha’s, the Pack’s been through some big changes, and I actually adore two of the other Alpha’s. I’m really curious how Dali is dealing with all this, since she and Jim haven’t that deep a foundation, and she’s well, Dali who while protective of people she loves, didn’t really have that kind of ambition I think. Which brings me to Desandra, who totally has that ambition, and is so awesome. Her whole spiel in Georgia was so brilliant, and then now she’s taking names as the Wolf Alpha… I’m just so curious how the slightly uptight wolves will deal with her. Last not but least, I absolutely adore Julie, ever since she’s first appeared. I have a lot of feelings about what Kate did to her with the ritual that bound her, and I’m glad that got referenced in the little novella about her and Derek. (I ship them so hard in a some day in the future way). Seriously, I’ve been so frustrated about this whole thing, I’m so excited for getting back to that. Especially with her relationship with Roland. But also, I’ve always loved her streetwise gumption and sass, and her relationship with Kate and the Pack. So any of them dealing with any kind of shenanigans, or just a quiet moment with someone else. Yes please :)

 

Galavant (TV):

Surprise Fandom of last year. I didn’t see my love for this coming, but wow have I been hit. It’s just so brilliant and funny, and the satire is so good, the music is great and they pack so, so much in such few and short episodes. If you don’t know this you can catch up Season 1 in an afternoon, and Season 2 is currently running (Feel free to use spoilers, I watch em as they air). I love a canon that isn’t afraid to laugh at itself and its characters. And I love all of them so much. Isabella is an awesome damsel in distress, leading lady, and I love her for her genre savviness, her willingness to do a bad thing for the right reasons, and her unwillingness to take Galavants crap. Also the training montage was sheer brilliance. Anything that shows off her competence would be awesome. I really liked her escape montage from the beginning of Season 2, so I’d love to read more of them. Madalena is a horrible human being, and I love how she now fully embraces that. She’s aiming to rule over all kingdoms, and I so admire her in that. I’d love something from her POV, either Pre, during or Post canon. I ship her only with herself. Gwynne might secretly be my favorite character. I love her practical and realistic outlook on live. I love how she goes from loyal servant to lets murder them all, without losing her cheer. I also love her relationship with Chef, just if you watch all their songs in order, there’s such a great story there. So anything about them making the best of a bad situation would be awesome, especially if Gwynne lets go her ruthless side a bit! Sid is probably the only character in this show that’s Good Good, and I was so charmed by the fact he’d lied a bit to his parents about all his achievements. I feel it’s time he gets his moment in the limelight now, so I’d love to read something about him saving the day. I also loved his family and village, so feel to include them as well!

 

Killjoys (TV)

FRIENDSHIP FEELINGS EVERYWHERE. This fandom sneaked up on me. I really like the worldbuilding a lot, and am super intrigued by the larger storyline. But mostly, I’m so super into Dutch & Johnny, agh, I didn’t see that coming. I tend to be a romantic shipper, but here I’m so hard on the friendship bicycle, argh. Dutch is just such an amazing heroine. She’s smart, can kick ass like the best of them, and she’s still kind despite everything that happened to her. She’s carving out her place in the world, and if that bloodies her knife, she’s okay with that. I ship her with D’avin but in a please get in a slightly healthier brainspace first way. I love how they showed the deep trust and friendship between Dutch and Johnny, and I’m so down for more of it. I’m also super into Lucy, because I have a huge thing for AIs developing emotional intelligence and relationships, so her relationship with Johnny and Dutch is something that super intrigues me.

I also really dig Bellus Haardy, especially because of her relationship with Dutch, which seemed kind of mentorlike for me. I’d love to read something about how that relationship developed, how they met, or about Bellus’ own days as a Killjoy.

I’m not hugely into Pawter, nor am I super into Delle Seyeh Kendry, mostly because she’s too much of a mystery still.

 

De Toekomsttrilogie | The Futuretrilogy - Thea Beckman:

Okay this is my longshot fandom, on the off chance that you’re a person who understands Dutch, since it hasn’t been translated to English as far as I know (I think the first two have been translated to German, so that might work as well). But of all my childhood books, I think these are so much in the spirit of Purimgifts, I couldn’t resist. The premise is really cool, it’s a post apocalyptic world where the axis of the earth has shifted, making Greenland somewhat of a paradise. All positions of power are filled by women, since men fucked it up so many times before. Cue Eco-Utopia. But then it’s discovered/invaded by Europeans (for the third time). And just, fuck, I still have a lot of emotions about all these characters ok. Thura. You brilliant girl, captain and woman. So realistic and harsh, and still quietly romantic and LOVING. So strategic and badass and ruthless. So in love with nature and Thule and Christian. I think Thura is the character who had the most impact on me as a kid. I love her relationship with Christian, I love her relationship with Tjalf in the third book, and I love her relationship with Elvia.

Speaking of Elvira. Wow. What a strength of mind and willpower, and such a strong desire for peace. I love how she’s selfish for the greater good, and yet almost unable to ask for something of herself. I love her romance with Tjalf, and forever complain and wish for book 4 where we could have seen there relationship develop. Because CULTURE CLASH <3. And as Tjalf says (roughly translated). Elvira, your sweetness, your kindness, your love for nature, I wouldn’t want to miss that. ME NEITHER. 

So yeah, I know it’s not gonna happen, but you never know what bigshot YA publisher accidentally falls on this on the internet. Dude or Dudette, this needs to be translated. IT’S GREAT. AND STILL RELEVANT.
